Our hearts are with your family during this difficult time. Jeanne was a wonderful woman, and we are thankful that she called The Breakers home for so many years. Her beautiful mural on the door to the greenhouse at The Breakers will live on as a tribute to her gifted artistic spirit.

Dear Robyn,
When we were young friends together, I always looked at your mother in awe. She was beautiful, kind, graceful and very talented and artistic. I am so sorry to hear of her death. May your memories live on and be shared with your daughter.

My hearfelt condolences to you on the loss of your very dear mother. Esther, your mother and I had many, many wonderful times together, beginning when you were at Kilmer School (where all of our kids went), and for many years after. I spoke briefly to you today, Robyn, but somehow missed talking to Richard. I'm so sorry. May all your wonderful memories of Jeanne, sustain you through this difficult time.

I'm now remembering the early years of Richard's law practice, when you and I worked here together, of the rushed deadlines, filling out everything by hand, of your stories of Rick when he was a kid, of the many times we (you, me and Rick) would go to lunch to celebrate our birthdays (Davis Street Fish Market, and that place on Sherman Avenue where the waiters would sing opera -- you really loved that place -- was it called "Verdi and Puccini"?
And the cats. Remember the cats. Boots and then Dusty.
