Jean Johnson-Friestad Obituary

Johnson-Friestad, Jean M. (nee White), of Venice, FL, died July 23, 2004. She was born July 22, 1924, in Walhalla, ND. She moved to Florida in 1981, from West Chicago, IL. She was a homemaker, author, artist and in 1981, she received a Bachelor Degree in Humanities from Northern Illinois University. She was also a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Jean is survived by her children, Donna (John) Naylor of Bloomingdale, IL, Debra (Joel) Peterson of Deerfield Beach, FL, Ruth (Kelly) Jarvis of Heber City, UT, Robert (Rose) Johnson of Bismarck, ND and Joseph (Kathy) Johnson of Glen Ellyn, IL. A cherished grandmother of 16 and a great-grandmother of five. She is also survived by her sisters, Donna (Ted) Tomasiewicz and Joyce (Jerry) Stinson. Jean was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations appreciated to American Diabetes Association, 30 N. Michigan Ave., Suite 2015, Chicago, IL 60602 or to a charity of your choice. Visitation Friday, July 30th, from 3 to 9 p.m., at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, Rt. 53 and Short Ave., Lisle, IL. Funeral service Saturday, July 31, 10:30 a.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, located at Ridgeland and Naperville Rd., Naperville, IL, the family will receive visitors from 10 a.m. until time of service.
