Jay Eisen Obituary

Eisen, Jay Edward Lt. Col. U.S. Army (retired), of Alexandria, VA died at the age of 100 on Monday, February 8, 2010. Born in Belgium, he came to the United States at the age of four, and was raised in Chicago, IL and obtained a law degree from Loyola University, Class of 1933. He served in the European and Pacific Theaters during WWII, and was a JAG officer at Ft. Belvoir, VA until he retired. He is predeceased by his loving wife, Nancy Eisen, retired U.S. Army, and brother, Harold Eisen, and sisters, Mary Chelnek and Ethel (Mike) Branman. He is survived by his brother, former Chief Bankruptcy Judge Robert (Catherine) Eisen, as well as his nieces and nephews, Roberta (David) Slavitt, Suzanne (Jerome) Urfrig, Diane (Dale Fisher) Branman, Judith (Joel) Caldwell, Robert (Diana Gordon) Branman, Stephen (Susan Blackman) Eisen, Merija (Steven Klaven) Eisen, and Tony Eisen. Funeral services with military honors will take place at Arlington National Cemetery on April 12, 2010.

I always enjoyed visiting Jay and Nancy in their home. Jay frequently came tp assist with the Riverwood entrnce gardening which we appreciated. Sincerest sympathies. James and Marilynn Gillman, Riverwood
