Ross, Jasper E. son of Lula and Edward Ross was born in the state of Alabama on April 7, 1914 but was reared in Chicago, Illinois. He was a graduated of Howard University. Jasper departed this life May 2, 2006 at Lincoln Park Hospital. A World War II veteran, a member of the 366th Infantry Army Intelligence Unit where 100 out of 110 officers held college degrees. They were regarded as the smartest regiment in the world. Mr. Ross was a first Lieutenant when he volunteered for an elite all black parachute infantry unit known as the Triple Nickel "(555)". He retired from the United States Army as a Major. Services will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at 11 a.m. Wallace Broadview Funeral Home, 2020 Roosevelt Rd., Broadview, IL, 60155, 708-344-1288 Vernon L. Wallace, Funeral Director.
