Janice McKay Obituary

Janice Ann (Lowe) McKay, 68, of Red Oak Mobil Home Village, South Attleboro, died on Friday, September 9, 2005 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro following a period of declining health.

Born in Providence, Rhode Island on August 27, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Owen E. and Mildred (Leonard) Lowe. She resided in Rhode Island until moving to Massachusetts twenty years ago. Raised and educated in Cranston, Rhode Island she was a graduate of Cranston High School.

Ms. McKay was a self employed interior decorator in the greater Attleboro area for twenty years. She was a member of the Orthodox Congregational Church of the United Church of Christ in Mansfield and was a member of the Business and Professional Women’s Group in Mansfield.

She enjoyed photography, traveling by train, the companionship of her cats and gardening.

She leaves a daughter: Kathleen J. Nickerson of Warren, Maine; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren and a sister: Norma J. Wilson of Charlestown, Rhode Island. She was the twin sister of the late Robert E. Lowe.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday, September 17, 2005 at 11:00 AM at the Orthodox Congregational Church of the United Church of Christ, 17 West Street, Mansfield, Massachusetts with the Rev. Theodore Newcomb, pastor, officiating. Burial will be private.

Visitation has been respectfully omitted.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mrs. McKay’s name may be made to the American Heart and Stroke Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
