Another year..always in our hearts ❤

Currently dating a Police Officer myself, My heart grieves for Elizabeth and what she is going through. I didn't know James personally, but I have read a lot about him since the accident and I saw all the pictures at the visitation. He seemed like an amazing guy and someone I wish I had the pleasure of getting to know. My deepest sympathies go out to his family. May God be with each of them and help them grieve and get through this very traggic time.

My condolence to the entire Sauter Family and my thoughts and prayers are with you Liz, Matthew, Eileen and Don, I'm so very sorry for your loss. Jim was a wonderful and faithful friend that I will miss dearly. RIP Illinois State Trooper James Micheal Sauter. XOXO.

Trooper James SAUTER is and always will be a hero to the People of the State of Illinois. As a police professional he was honorable and served with dignity. I had the privilege of meeting him on the expressway when he backed me up on a traffic stop. As a Supervisor for the CCSPD I observed James in his professional capacity. I can say without a doubt Trooper Sauter was the ideal of what a police officer should strive to become. He was respectful, had a command presence, and diligent in his duties. Thank you Trooper Sauter for being there when I needed assistance and thank you for your dedication to the badge!

In life people respected James and in death we will all miss him! Thank you Trooper James Sauter for serving with diginity and pride and thank you for your service to all of us!

You will always have a special place in all of our hearts!

I am so saddened to read of this tragedy and Diane and I are so sorry for your loss. Also am sad for the law enforcement community and for the ISP at the loss of a fine, young officer.

His grandmother, MaryLou, is a dearly coveted neighbor and friend. We have never seen her heart so heavy with sorrow as we did upon learning the news. We continue to pray for all who loved James.

James you will be missed,I always enjoyed our conversations when you'd call our Allstate office, you were always a joy, I often would think to myself " I hope my son's turn out like James" just the best guy.....my heartfelt prayers go out to Elizabeth and the whole family......there are no adequate words, just prayers

We miss you. I'm going to miss giving you a hard time on patrol buddy. I always loved joking with you. I'll never forget the memories we had and how you would always ask me for advice. I looked at you like a little brother. You will live on in our stories about you. As long as I'm around the new troopers will hear who Jim Sauter was. God bless you and I'll meet up with you again one day.

Jimmy, There are no words to explain the pain that I feel knowing you are not with us any longer. So many of my friends know of you, not because they have met you, but because of how much I have told them about you. I thought it was so cool that my cousin was a pilot :) I was always so excited of each and every one of your accomplishments. You have made us all so proud! You chased and followed all of your dreams! I have even admired the strong man of Faith that you were. You were always smiling and you made me laugh all the time! You may not be physically with us, but my memories with you will remain in my heart forever! I know and believe you are in heaven with John and grandpa fishing or watching a ball game. Love you and will miss you so much Jim!

Our sincere condolences go out to the Sauter Family. I worked with Jimmy at Complete Collision. He was persistent in all of his goals and he accomplished them in his short life. I know all of you are so proud of him because of the way Don used to come to work and brag about Jim. Our hearts are with you.

RIP Jim..I not only went to HS with him but would also talk with him a lot when he would come into charter one where i worked at the time. I often remember him talking about wanting to be a State trooper. He definitely died doing something he LOVED! U will be missed. Praying for your wife and family. RIP #6095 gone too soon!
