James Rovano Obituary

Rovano, James Joseph U.S. Army Retired, age 87. Longtime Tinley Park and Orland Park resident, born and raised in Chicago's Roseland neighborhood. Retired as a Sergeant Major - U.S. Army after 23 years, serving two tours in Korean and three tours in Vietnam Wars, first as a Green Beret and later as an Army Ranger. After retiring from the military, Jim spent 20 years with the Chicago Public Schools as a Junior ROTC teacher. Tilden Tech H.S. graduate. Husband for 35 years of the late Geraldine (nee DeMarco); father of Darr Akers, James, Tony (Jenny) and Brian (Laurie) Rovano; grandfather of Patrick Akers, Megan (Michael) Thompson, Anthony, Jacob, Nicholas and Mark Rovano; great-grandfather of Joseph, Skyler and James; brother of the late Darlene (late William) Gregga, beloved uncle, friend and fellow Veteran. Resting at Panozzo Bros.
