James Morris Obituary

ABINGDON – Mr. James William "Bill" Morris, 81, passed away Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007, in Grace Healthcare of Abingdon.
Bill had been employed at Camac Corporation and was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Morris, sisters, Rose Ellen Collins, Polly Farmer and Edna Mitchell. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his daughters, Laura Ruth Ratliff, Blountville, and Deborah Morris Saidla, Abingdon; grandchildren, Randall Ratliff, April Marie Copenhaven and Jeremy Ray Shortt; great-grandchildren, Victoria Copenhaven and Kirsty Copenhaven.
The funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2007, at 2 p.m. in the Farris Funeral Service Main Street Chapel, with Dr. Austin Cook officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Mountain View Methodist Cemetery, Route 75, with military honors to be conducted by the Highlands Veterans Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be Howard Morris, Dan Saidla, Wendell Boggs, Frank Mink, Curtis Mink and J.C. Cook. Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond Barrett and Bill McCall.
