James T. McGuire Retired C.F.D., passed away at home early Thursday morning. He was the beloved husband of the late Dolores Cavoto. Loving father of Debra (Tom) Haney, Donna (Tom) Kucala and Cynthia (Christopher) Renteria. Proud grandfather of Brigitte (Mike) Ralph, Tyler Haney , Tom (Kristin) Kucala, Jim (Shelley) Kucala, Dan (Kathryn)Kucala, Sara Spain and Christopher (Katie)Renteria. Much loved great grandfather of Mackenzie, Averie, Ben, Zach, Alex, Patrick, Brad, Mason, Mia and Clara. James will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews and good friends. Visitation is Tuesday from 8:30 AM until 10:30 AM at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Avenue (55th street just west of Harlem). We will go in procession from the funeral home to Two Holy Martyrs Parish, St. Rene Goupil Church for an 11 AM Mass. James will be laid to rest with Military Honors at St. Mary Cemetery. James was a Chicago Fireman for 33 years retiring from Engine #127 and a 70 year member of the Chicago Fire Fighters Union. He was a longtime resident of Chicago’s Clearing Community and was very actively involved with the Clearing Civic Association. He received the Senior Citizen of the Year Award from William O. Lipinski in 1997. A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, James was a member of the American Legion Chicago Fireman’s Post 667. We salute him for his service to our country, his city and his community. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of James to Shriners Children’s Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
