I am a friend of the Mayo family. I met the Bishop on a couple of occasions. Indeed he went out of his way to pray for me and my tribulations. His commanding presence and his love of life enabled me to find strength and belief to get through my troubled times. He will be missed yet find solace he is with our Lord.He is an icon that will never be forgotten.

To the Mayo Family,
When I got the news this morning that your father had passed, I thought about the times when I worked for him at Coppin AME Church over 25 years ago and the times that I spent with your mother. My prayers are with you all.
