It is with much sadness that I learned of Jim's passing. I remember his sister, Mary, from Mercy high school. I was Vickie Bonde back then. I had recently connected with Jim on the message board and we exchanged a few words from time to time. Jim's family will be in my prayers!

I am among the many who corresponded with Jim on the Mendel_Mercy classmates site. Jim always had interesting things to talk about and found interesting sites for the rest of us to look at. I knew his sisters Mary and Fran from Mercy but while I never met Jim, I came to feel as though we were close friends and have missed his presence. My deepest sympathy to all of his family from all of us who became his friends.

All of the people on the Mendel_Mercy Delphi Forum wish to extend our deepest sympathy to Jim's family. Jim was our "ONE" Mt.

Carmel guy! That's what it said on

our home page. Many of us who went

to Mercy High School knew Jim's sisters. Although most of us had not

met Jim personally, we had talked to

him by e-mail for a couple of years and found out what a wonderful, caring man he was and how he loved

his children and all children. Jim

will be missed, he was a wonderful

man.

Although I grew up in Chicago, I never had the pleasure of meeting Jim in person. Jim was an online friend through the Overflow Group. He will be missed.

May happy memories help to comfort you at this time. You will remain in my prayers.

From Jim's friends at the 'Overflow':

Please accept our deepest sympathy for your loss.

Jim was a regular contributor to our 'Overflowat79th' discussion group on Yahoo. He was always the guy we counted on to jog our memories of the old neighborhood.

Some of us knew Jim from grammar school.

He was a good friend who will be missed by all.

I only met Jim through the CHICAGO BOOMERS board. He was always interesting to talk with about growing up in Chicago. He also talked about his family and how proud he was of his hockey playing boys. Strange how the internet can make us friends who are sadden at your passing. I will be keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers.

Jim Lonergan was a wonderful guy. In the early seventies Jim and I were part of the vaunted F-TROOP of the fifth district of the Chicago Police Dept. Jim realized at that time that I was a handful, and he felt that I needed a good woman in my life. He suggested that I attend college with him. So off we went to Lewis U. My first day in school(He called me Joe College Guy, he said I was a natural) yes the first day he tells me exactly where to sit in the classroom, so I sat, and about five minutes later the cutest girl that I have ever seen walked in and sat at the desk next to me, I said hi, she glared at me, Jim squared things, she and I fell in love, and have been in love to this very day. We celebrated our twenty first wedding anniversary last week, we have three wonderful children, Eileen is still the cutest girl I ever saw, and because of Jim my once doubtful, uncertain future became a wonderful reality. I owe this wonderful family life to him, and it is wonderful. I will not forget him. He was and shall ever be a prince.
