James M. Kuhn A Funeral Mass for Mr. James M. Kuhn, 86, of Yorkville, Ill., will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 406 Walnut St., Yorkville, with Father Boniface Vaisnoras, M.I.C. officiating. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Bristol, Ill. Friends may call from 2 until 8 p.m. today, at Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 410 E. Countryside Parkway, Yorkville. Born on Aug. 3, 1919, in Iowa, the son of Giles and Elizabeth (nee Kammes) Kuhn, he passed away Saturday, Oct. 15, 2005, at the Hillside Care Center in Yorkville. Mr. Kuhn was united in marriage on April 4, 1964, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bristol, Ill., to the former Mary V. Sullivan and they spent the next 41 happy years of their lives together. Jim was a graduate of the Class of 1937 from Wheaton Community High School in Wheaton. He was a longtime member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Yorkville, where he served, for many years, on its administration counsel. Jim was a former member of the St. Michael's Catholic Church in Wheaton. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus in Wheaton. Jim was a farmer throughout his life, originally starting out farming on Herrick Road in Warrenville. In 1967, he and Mary purchased a farm in Yorkville, eventually moving into the farmhouse in 1972, where Jim spent the rest of his life farming the land. He was a former board member of Kane-DuPage Soil-Water Conservation, the Will-DuPage Service Company, and the 4-H Foundation Board. He was also, for over 25 years, a 4-H Leader in DuPage County. Jim also was a former president of the DuPage County Farm Bureau and was a member of the DuPage County Rural Youth Organization. He was one of a group of people who initiated the DuPage County Fair Association where he served one term as its president. He was a member of the Kendall County Farm Bureau, and had served on the board of the Kendall Farmers Elevator (currently known as Grainco), and until recently, the Illinois Valley FBFM. Jim was a loving husband, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and many friends. He is survived by his wife, Mary Kuhn of Yorkville; his brother, Robert (Jean) Kuhn of Naperville; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Giles and Elizabeth Kuhn; and his brother, Edward Kuhn. For information, 630-553-7611.
