James Hickey Obituary

Hickey, James George "Jim" Age 81, late of Lockport, passed away August 30, 2014 at Silver Cross Hospital. Born in Chicago, IL. James was a member of Bricklayers Local 21 for 50 years, retiring in 1994. He was a member of Sertoma. James also was an avid bowler, who loved spending time with his family. Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Monica (Darrah); a daughter, Kathy Mallet; and by two sisters, Loraine Szymankowsky and Dolores Spinney Survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Shirley (Lennon); son, James Hickey; daughters, Margaret (Anson) Fairtrace and Laura (Greg) Hall; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; brothers, Bill, George, Walter, Thomas Hickey; and sisters, Colleen McLaughlin, and Mary Cremin. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Sertoma would be appreciated. Prayers will be held Thursday, September 4, 2014, 9:30 a.m. in the O'NEIL FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 1105 E. 9TH ST. (159TH ST.), LOCKPORT before proceeding to St. Dennis Church, Lockport for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
