I had the pleasure of working with Jim Griffin at Area/5 Homicide. Griff was a unique and tenacious detective, who exemplified the concept of dedicated police work.
Once he started an investigation he pursued it to resolution; always willing to knock on one more door, wether to find another witness or verify a statement. In short he did whatever was required to move the X.
May he Rest In Peace till we meet again. His kind are few and far between. He shall be missed especially in this day and age when Police Work is undervalued and not appreciated.
Till we meet again old friend,
Rob

condolences to Griffin family. Jimmy was always going to or coming from the basketball court. He could not dunk but he did everything else well on the court.

A CPD legendary presence. He was at the police Mass on Christmas morning one year and made us all laugh so hard with a perfectly timed street police remark. The grins lasted throughout the Mass. I never looked out at a happier congregation.
I'm sorry for your mourning time. May Jim know God's peace now, forever.
