James Ewing Obituary

Ewing, James E. Age 87, died Wed., Aug. 22, 2018. He was born in Kenosha on December 8, 1930, the son of Earl and Josephine (Kriofsky) Ewing. He was a Veteran Sergeant of the United States Army. He is survived by his beloved wife Kathleen, nee Otsuka, of 65 years; nieces Linda Altobelli and Debra Twardzik, many nieces and nephews, loving friends Bob Kirby, Ray Zack, and Arthur "Buddy" Secor, and Godson Jay Secor. He was preceded in death by his parents Earl Ewing and Josephine (Kriofsky) Ewing, sister Margaret Ewing, grandnephew Jason Altobelli, and nephew Casey Twardzik. Jim worked for UPS for over 35 years. He started by delivering furniture and then eventually was promoted to supervisor and center manager. There he was in charge of Operations, Personnel, Industrial Engineering, Auditing, Delivery Information, and District and Regional Customer Service. Jim said, "If it didn't work, they gave it to me to fix." Jim was a telecommunications expert for the Metro Chicago District and serviced UPS' Automatic Tie Line and Support (ATLAS) network. Jim was known for telling a good joke. "I'm going to head East, and when my hat floats, you know I went too far" was one of his favorites. His jokes will be remembered forever. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Salerno's Galewood Chapels, 1857 N. Harlem Ave., Chicago from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Chapel service to be held at 7:00 p.m.James will be laid to rest at Greenridge Cemetery in Kenosha, WI privately.
