Korean War Era, beloved husband of Joan (nee Drackner), loving father of Daniel (Mary), Candace (Sean) Short, Colleen (Robert) Stransky, Maureen (David) Stanko, Christina and the late Michael Hugh, devoted grandfather of Kaitlan, Michael, Anna, Connor, Christian, Alexandra, Caroline and John, dear son of the late Hugh and Annie, fond brother of Marie DiDonna, Katy Fisher, Joan Lieb, Frances Hobbs, Elizabeth Billish and the late Patrick Curran, Margaret Shoemaker and Ann Pomazol, uncle of many nieces and nephews. Former owner of Curran's Lounge in Chicago for 45 years. The "Chief" of Magician Lake in Michigan. Funeral Monday, 9:15 a.m. from Conboy-Westchester Funeral Home, 10501 W. Dear Joan and Family: My deepest sympathy to all of you at this sad time. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Jim was a great guy and was always so kind to me when I came from my homeland of Scotland. I first met Jim when he visited us in Craigneuk, Scotland while he was in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany.
Joan, you and Jim were such a lovely couple and I have such good memories of all of us being together. Think of the welcome Jim has received from Our Blessed Lord and all the Currans who have gone before him.
And my deepest sympathy also goes to my cousins Marie, Katie, Joan, Frances and Elizabeth for the loss of such a dear brother as Jim. You also have been blessed with such beautiful memories of your lives with Jim.
