Jaime Rodriguez Obituary

Rodriguez, Jaime Antonio 52, crossed over on August 19, 2009. Jaime was born on July 26, 1956 in Mexico City, Mexico to Antonio and Rosario Rodriguez. Jaime was an architect that graduated from IIT, and his career started at Skidmore and Owens with numerous other projects and endeavors. He became a dedicated teacher/mentor at Chicago Vocational and Bowen High School Chicago. He exposed his students to new ideas and wonderful opportunities through internships and grants.  He loved traveling, music, philosophy, sports, art, telling jokes, and cooking. He was a soccer coach for his children and loved spending quality time with his family and friends. His travels led him to embrace other cultures along with a deep love for his Mexican heritage. He loved the city of Chicago, its architecture, people, food, and music, and he enjoyed nature and the quiet living in Ogden Dunes, IN. Jaime was a loving father and husband that emphasized the importance of education and independent thinking in his children. He is survived by his father, Antonio Jaime Rodriguez, brothers, Mario, Gustavo, and Humberto, sisters, Judith, Rosario, and Maria Lourdes, and sons, Jaime Antonio, Alfredo David, and Eduardo David Rodriguez. A Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday, August 28th, 2009 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN. Services will begin at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. www.ee-fh.com

Jaime will be greatly missed. He was as eager to extend a hand to meet you as he was to extend a hand to help. He adored his children and wanted nothing but the best for them. He always encouraged them to not be afraid to try something new and stand on their own. I love you, Jaime. I know you will find peace in your mother's arms.
