Bob and I were very sorry to hear about Jack's death. We have fond memories of your visit to Alexandria to visit Dad in 1996 and in 1997 when we were married. I always used to say you and Jack were the perfect couple. I remember Jack's wonderful attitude and always marveled at his ability to "roll with the punches." You could almost feel his pride in you and the girls and see his great love. May Almighty God give you the grace and strength to deal with this terrible loss. Our hearts and prayers are with you. Dear Arlene and family,

I can't tell you how sorry I am to hear of Jack's passing. I knew he was troubled with the diabetes, but continued to hope that the treatment would give him and you some more years together.

What a guy!!! So good and loving and interested in everything...all strange things included...he could talk about any subject with enthusiasm, especially about the girls and their families...not to mention you, Arlene. He seemed to me to take everything with a calm patience and good outlook. Even in his army days, he took all that stuff with quiet courage and eagerness to get back home.

Not everyone gets the "love of their life" and you and the girls had one of the best.

I cry at the loss of him. It was such a good run, I loved him too.

Love, Linda

Dear Arlene:

I offer my sympathy to your and your family. I was looking for the notice of a parent of one of our students in Legacy and was stunned to find Jack's. My thoughts are with you at this most difficult time. I know you have many good memories, and in time these will help to heal your heart. Take care.
