J.L. Cluck went to be with his Lord and Savior early Tuesday morning. J.L. fought a good fight and kept the faith and is now at rest with Jesus. He was 91 years old.
J.L. was born in Earlsboro, Oklahoma and was raised in Wewoka, Oklahoma. On March 5, 1946, J.L. Joined the Navy and served in the occupation forces on Guam. Yeoman Third Class J.L. Cluck was honorably discharged on January 5, 1948. J.L. moved to Ontario and was introduced to June, the love of his life, by his sister-in-law Bessie Cluck. June lived in Visalia and J.L. made frequent long drives to court her. J.L. married the love of his life June Teague on January 28, 1949.
J.L. lived his life focusing on serving the Lord, raising his four boys, and caring for his precious wife of almost seventy years. J.L. worked at DOW Chemical, US Steel, and retired in 1991 after 32 years with PG&E. J.L. held a Mission Worker License from the Pentecostal Holiness Church. For many years J.L. worked and preached faithfully at the Gospel Mission in Oakland. J.L. and June would take their boys every month and minister to the transient and homeless in the Oakland area. J.L. was an amazing husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His devotion, love, and amazing prayers will be greatly missed by his family and friends. J.L. leaves with us an incredible godly example of what husband, father, and grandfather should look like. He modeled this example for us daily and leaves his family with a great heritage.
J.L. is survived by his devoted children Darrell (Gwen) of West Sacramento, Glenn (Pam), Wade (Annette), and Ron all of Antioch. Much loved Grandchildren Tamera Russel (Gary), Scot Cluck (Veronica), Tina Lowell (Lance), Tanya Brown (Marcus), Ronnie Cluck (Angelica), and Joshua Cluck. J.L. was blessed with eight great-grandchildren whom he loved and enjoyed very much.
J.L. was preceded in death by his beloved wife June, parents Samuel and Lillie Cluck, brothers Jessie, Cecil, Sammy, Roy, sister Viola Griswold, daughter-in-law Margie, and a precious granddaughter Janelle.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 from 4-8 p.m. and a Going Home Service on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Pittsburg Funeral Chapel, 2295 Railroad Avenue in Pittsburg, California. Interment to follow at Oak View Memorial Park, Antioch.
