She was a terrific teacher who was known for her wonderful sense of humor and her love of music. I was a January track student at Brenan and, so, had the other 7th grade teacher. But I got to know Mrs. Arterburn through extracurricular activities. In a school known for its fine teachers, she was one of the best. I wish God's peace for her family and offer my gratitude for someone who made a difference.

What a wonderful memory of grade school years was made possible by Mrs Arterburn! She allowed the 8th graders to produce a "play" in the back of her science room to encourage our creative sides. She was always a free thinker who would listen to any ideas students might have. Pensive, wise and fair and yet ready to laugh and enjoy the teachable moments in the classroom! Her love of being a "lifelong learner" was the best role model for all of us. (I was at Brenan Grade School from 1957-66.)Her legacy lives on in the students she touched!
