My grand-daddy was such a inspiration to me and others. I can sit back with my family and laugh and cry and talk about the many memories that he have given us and others. It hurt me badly that his has passed on, but i look at it this way there were so many people in heaven waiting on him. My grandma included! I no right now that I can only see him in pictures and have sweet memories of him, but i will see him again. I thank everyone for being there for our family and showing our family support and that we are not alone in these situtations. As i look up in that sky I know that grandma and grandpa is watching over us and telling us it's ok and to still together.

My deepest regrets and sympathy go out to you and the family at your loss.
When i met pops as I called him we found a small bond since we were both Air Force and were stationed at alot of the same places although it was about 20 years difference I would spend most of the time at the gatherings sitting with him and reflecting on both of our experiences in the service.
He was a very funny man and always came up with some humerous anicdotes for the way life had changed over the years and always looked on the bright side and did not dwell on the past, the family was always first on his mind and always had a smile on his face, although I did not know him for very long he will always be in my heart and I will cherish the time I did get to spend with him.
Having lost my Mother not too long ago I can relate to the grief of the family and friends.
As a fellow vet I would like to say to him rest in peace comrade in arms and thank you for your service and sacrifices you made to make us free.
May god bless you and take you under his arm that you will never again be worried and you can help him keep watch over your family and help them through this rough time and keep them safe.

Grandpa touched the lives of every person he met, but he sure would not let someone touch him. He had stories to tell, and lessons to learn if you would just listen. Just remember…you had to have a lot of time because he had a LOT of stories. He was loved by so many. I even had the experience of being a passenger while grandpa drove in Chicago. I thought I was on a roller coaster. Grandpa has left me with a lot of wonderful memories to carry through my life. I will always remember the laughter that he brought into my heart.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

I will always remember Grandpa for his guidance and straight forward conversation. With as many children, grandchildren and great grandchildren as he had he always made room for welcoming more. I can only hope, to grow into the man who made me very proud to call him my Grandpa.

Somewhere beyond the rainbow's end,
The skies are bright and fair.
No shadow dim - no darkness falls,
The land is peaceful there.

So when a dear one heeds the call
Our hearts should be at rest.
For there beyond the rainbow's end,
A loving God knows best.
