Iris Rigler Obituary
She was born on July 21, 1924, in Helena to Flora and Albert Dobler and was raised on the family farm in the Clasoil area. She attended Clasoil Grade School and graduated from Helena High School. She married Charles "Zip" Rigler on Nov. 26, 1949. They had two daughters, Joanne and Vonnie. Iris was employed by the State of Montana for 26 years.
She loved her flowers and was a very gifted quilter, making beautiful wall hangings and quilts, which her family treasures.
She was very close to her family and her grandchildren brought her much joy in many ways.
Iris was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Ted. She is survived by her husband, Zip; two daughters, Joanne Rigler and Vonnie (Doug) Strong; grandchildren, Steven (Mayuko) Strong, Aaron Strong, and Rebecca Strong; and also by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Lucy and Mike Stump, Luddie Rigler, Jeanie and Herb Bailey, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be sent to the donor's choice.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m., Thursday, June 1, at Retz Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at St. Ann's Cemetery, East Helena.
