Irene Nesteruk Obituary

Nesteruk, Irene V., 84, of Manchester (formerly of Ypsilanti) passed away Friday, January 6, 2006 peacefully in her sleep at home. She was born August 4, 1921 in McKeesport, PA the daughter of Teofil and Mary (Opalko) Pienczykowski. She married John Paul Nesteruk on October 12, 1946 and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by 1 son, Gerald and 7 brothers and sisters. Irene is survived by her children: Yvonne (Stephen) Dezarov and Denise Nesteruk, both of Manchester; 4 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; daughter-in-law Therese Nesteruk of Belleville; and several nieces and nephews. Irene was a member of the Ladies Altar Society, the Madonna Guild and the Polish National Alliance. She was very devoted to the church, donating many hours of her time and arrangements of her flowers in and around her former parish Transfiguration church. A Celebration of Irene’s life will take place on Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Manchester with Father Timothy D. Krzyzaniak officiating. Burial Washtenong Memorial Park at 1:30 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Arbor Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Jenter Chapel in Manchester where the family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. with a Vigil Service at 7:00 P.M.
