GOUGH, Ga. - Ms. Irene Walker Diaz, of Old Louisville Road, entered into rest Sunday, July 1, 2007 at University Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, July 7, 2007 at Green Grove A.M.E. Zion Church in Gough, Ga. with Rev. Samuel Grant officiating. Interment will follow in Walker Family Cemetery in Gough, Ga. Remains will lie in state at 12 noon. Family and friends will assemble at 12:15 p.m. at 7240 Hwy 80 East, Wrens, Ga. Visitation will be held Friday, July 6, 2007 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Burnett Funeral Home, Wrens, Ga. Survivors include four devoted and loving sisters, Daisy Walker, Columbia, S.C., Hattie Bell Lafavor, Louisville, Ga., Josephine Lewis, Aiken, S.C., Jeanette (Glenn) Birt, Wrens, Ga.; two brothers, David (Betty Ann) Walker and Bennie Walker, both of Gough, Ga.; soul mate, Bobby Thomas, Augusta, Ga.; two sisters-in-law, Mary Walker, Wrens, Ga., Charlie Mae Walker, Gough, Ga.; and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
