Irene Bower Obituary

Bower, Irene (nee Kitsonas), beloved wife of Bruce L. Bower; loving mother of Rebecca, M.D. (Bruce, M.D.) Lewis, Elizabeth (Joseph, M.D.) Kent and Catherine Bower; fond grandmother of Mary Elizabeth Lewis, Joseph Bower Lewis and Katherine Mary Kent; dear sister of Virginia (Hector) Rivette, William and the late Lt. Col. Nicholas (Elfie) Kitsonas, U.S. Army. Irene was a member of Church of the Redeemer and a discussion leader in Bible Study Fellowship for many years. Irene supported and helped raise funds for Saint Gregory Episcopal School for Boys in Chicago and The Mustard Seed Project-Sonrise Orphanage in Rwanda established for the children orphaned by the genocide. Visitation Friday, 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Donnellan Family Funeral Home, 10045 Skokie Blvd. at Old Orchard Road, Skokie. Memorial services Saturday, 10 a.m. at Kenilworth Union Church, 211 Kenilworth Avenue, Kenilworth.
