It's been 8 years and I still remember us running down to Popeyes to visit with Andy and have some lunch. We had great times together that I will never forget.

Even to this day, whenever I talk about the Bulls, I think of Ira and Karen. This last Sunday it happened again. Our healing thoughts to the family. Hopefully, the time has softened the pain.

Ira and I shared an apartment in Metairie in 1966, when he transferred to Tulane from Bradley. What a great guy! He was absolutely the best president that the Pikes ever had. Incredibly creative and he really put the chapter on the map. I still remember his 1967 red Firebird convertible. As far as one of the contributors said here, he always talked about Chicago hot dogs and his love for one establishment called Paul's Umbrella. Shalom Ira and remember you taught me the word "putz", which I always found endearing. Joke.

It's been many years since I saw Ira, but his contribution to the PiKA fraternity at Tulane are legendary. Great times, spawned by Ira will live on for many years in the memories of his Tulane brothers as just one small part of his legacy. We live on in the minds of the living. What better way to be memorialized? My personal condolences on the loss of Ira to all of his remaining family and friends.

My condolences to Karen and family. Ira always told me he'd make me a millionaire after we got into the hot dog business, never happened, but we had a ton of laughs thinking about it. Ira, you will be missed.

A wonderful man and good friend. An excellent attorney whose clients were always viewed as friends and for whom he worked tirelessly to help and guide. He is one of the truly good people that you are glad you know. And I use the present tense because I can still hear him calling me "Neal-ly". I miss him very much. My deepest sympathy to his wife and children.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Karen and the rest of the Marcus family.Ira and Karen were always had a smile and were always kind to my wife and I.I enjoyed our talks about the bulls and will always cherish the times when he would ask",Manny how would you like tickets to see the bulls tonight".I still have all the tickets stubs that they so graciously saved for me because they knew I was such a big fan. When our son passed a few years ago a friend passed along a poem of sorts called I wish you. The last sentence goes something like,They say it takes a minute to find a special person,an hour to appreciate them a day to really like them, but an entire life to forget them.I'm sure Ira affected a lot of people this way.To the rest of the family I just want to say I wish you.Your husband, father, grandfather was a good person and my family is so sorry for your loss.
