My parents, Robert and Lorraine Kruse, as well as myself would like to express our sympathies to the family. My dad worked with Hugh at Engine 78. In fact, Hughie was a bartender at my parents' wedding. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Hughey O'Boyle served as bar tender at my parents' wedding! My dad, Bob Kruse, started working at Engine 78 in '56. My parents married in '57. My book, "A Chicago Firehouse: Stories of Wrigleyville's Engine 78" is a tribune to all the members, past and present, of Engine 78. May Capt. O'Boyle rest in peace. I send my condolences, as well as those of my parents.
