Simon, Howard age 65, beloved husband of 42 years to Helene (nee Macohn), loving father and friend to Steve (Andi) and Heidi (Chris) George. Fun loving Papa to Jake, Sami, Zach, and Katelyn, dear brother of Myrna (Seymour) Emalfarb, fond brother-in-law of Elaine (Gary) Showers and Phyllis (Merrill) Krieger, cherished uncle to Robert Brown, Lisa (Trayton) Jay, Michelle Fine, Brad Rosofsky, Gary (Janice) Richman and Marc (Patty) Richman, son of the late Nate and Sylvia. Chapel service Monday, 10 a.m., at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Interment, Shalom Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Make A Wish Foundation of Illinois, 640 N. I first heard about how nice of a person Howard was, about his family and his successful career from conversations with Chris while Heidi and he were dating.
I first met Howard and the rest of the Simon family during the time of Heidi's and Chris' wedding. It was a wonderful wedding. Howard's presence helped create a fun and enjoyable ceremony and reception.
In the following years, I had the good fortune to see him at his grandchildren's birthday parties. His warm and humorous personality always made the events more rewarding. He will be missed. My condolences to the Simon family.

I grew up 2 houses down from the Simon's home and I have fond memories of Mr. Simon. There was always alot of laughing growing up. Thank you Mr. Simon. Eating eggrolls will never be the same. My deepest sympathies to your family.

Very sorry to hear of Howie's passing. I grew up with him on the old west side, and didn't see each other after that (mid-1950's). Know the Richman family relatives from Northbrook. Regrets to all the family.

I did not know him well but he was a real gentleman and a great grandpa as that is when I saw him most...May wonderful memories of your time together sustain you through these trying times.
