Elling, Herschel D. 83, Naval Veteran of WWII, beloved husband of the late Mary (nee Munyer), loving father of Robert (Soon) and William (Kasey), devoted grandfather of Jennifer (Ryan) Bigelow, John (fiance Laurie), William, Thomas and Samuel, fond brother of Charles and the late Wayne. Visitation Monday, 4 to 9 p.m. at Williams-Kampp Funeral Home, 430 E. Roosevelt Rd., Wheaton, (one blk. east of Naperville Rd.), Visitation Tuesday, 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass 10:30 a.m. at Most Holy Redeemer Church, 96th & Lawndale, Evergreen Park, IL. Interment St. Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Wheaton VFW appreciated. Funeral Info., 630-668-0016.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
