Dr. Herb Sohn was one of my teaching attending Urology physicians. I rotated with him at Weiss hospital as a Urologic Surgery resident from the University of Chicago. He has a kind, caring, and compassionate man who tried to do the right thing. May his memory be a blessing.

He was a wonderful friend for almost 40 years! I will miss his humor and his energy. He was always available and a real support to his many long time patients. I had been trying to contact him for over a year without success, now I can only be grateful for all the time and events we shared. He will be missed by many!

Please accept my belated condolences.
I have been his patient since I was 35, and
continued to remain until I was 75. In September I will be 80.
DR. Sohn and I shared many experiences outside of his practice.
One such memory goes back when I
was the District Industry Specialist for the Internal Revenue Service here in Chicago and we
worked together helping him learn more about
the IRS by putting him in touch with the National Industry Specialists so he could get a true and accurate picture of the IRS in the
90's. He came to my 60 Special Birthday and
also my Retirement Party.
After every visit He called me into his
office and we discussed the country and its administration. His wall was filled with pictures of famous politicians.
I will miss his many telephone calls over the
years, and thank Dr. Dorshau for suggesting
I see him when I was 35. He told me he was a
sweet guy and a great Doctor. He was so right.

I was deeply saddened to learn of Dr. Sohn's passing last month. I just read today, July 14, 2019 in the Chicago Sun Times obituary of his passing.
I worked at Weiss Memorial Hospital in the late 70's and early 80's. I was one of Dr. Sohn's patients and was a friend to him as well while working at the hospital. I remember giving Dr. Sohn a stuffed man doll that fitted his urology profession. (See photos). I also baked cookies and brought them to Dr. Sohn's office during the time I worked at the hospital.
Dr. Sohn will be deeply missed.
