Family-Placed Death Notice

Mrs. Helen G. Rolnick, age 87 of Atlanta formerly of Staten Island, New York died Saturday, April 17, 2004. Helen was born March 15, 1917 in the Bronx, New York and relocated to Staten Island when she was just a year old. In Staten Island, Helen attended public elementary and high schools. She graduated from high school in 1934. The Depression forced Helen to get a job at age 17, earning $12 per week. While working at LeRoi Hosiery Company, she met her future husband, Jesse Rolnick. They were married in 1937, when Helen was just 20 years old. This couple of 67 years, are the proud parents of two sons, four grandsons and one great-grandson. Helen and her family relocated to Atlanta in 1966. She soon became active in various organizations including the Standard Club where she served as the first president of the Womens Golf Committee. Helen was also responsibble for putting on various musical productions at the club. On January 1, 1983, upon Jesse's retirement, the two took this opportunity to travel extensively. Helen and Jesse took a number of cruises and traveled to Europe and the Far East. Helen is survived in addition to her husband by her son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Jackie Rolnick of Atlanta; her grandchildren and spouses, Michael and Carol Rolnick of San Francisco, CA; Greg and Mary-Jo Rolnick of Chicago, IL; Mitchell Rolnick of Atlanta; Eric Rolnick of New York City and her great-grandson, Adam Rolnick of San Francisco. She was preceded in death by her son, Iven Rolnick. Graveside funeral services will be held Monday, April 19 at 12:30 P.M. at Arlington Memorial Park with Rabbi Philip Kranz officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the William Breman Jewish Home 3150 Howell Mill Road, N.W. Atlanta, GA 30327. Arrangements by H.M.
