Harvey Udesky Obituary

Udesky, Harvey H. 84, died peacefully on Friday, November 11, from pneumonia and heart disease. Harvey was the loving husband of Frances Mittelman Udesky, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his four children: Jonathan, Laurie, Amy and Michael; sisters and brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and a myriad of friends. He was the brother of the late Sam Udell, the late Jack Udell, the late Isadore Udesky, the late Herbert Udesky, the late Mary Ludwig and the late Tillie Levin. He was the son of the late Abraham and Alice Udesky. Harvey was born and raised in Chicago's Humboldt Park area, served as a sergeant in World War II and attended college through the federal G.I. Bill, earning a degree in chemistry. Harvey was passionate about his business, Evron Industries, which he owned and maintained for close to fifty years. His company produced pharmaceuticals, and subsequently manufactured health and beauty products, such as vitamins and shampoos. Harvey was charismatic, an engaging storyteller who could sit around the dinner table and reduce the room to laughter. He held steadfast love and devotion for his family and friends. He was respected and adored by all and will be dearly missed. Chapel Service Monday, 1 p.m. at Shalom Memorial Park, Beth Shearim Chapel, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Disease Association, 4709 Golf Road, Suite 1015, Skokie, IL, 60076. I was an emplyee at Bates Laboratories in the late 40's while attending college. I remember Harvey as the young, enthusiastic brother of my employer, Mr. Jack Udell. I think of Jack often. He gave me great counsel, advice that helped me then and through the years. God bless Jack and Harvey.

Uncle Harvey is everything you said and of course, much, much more.

Though I've lived my adult life abroad, I still closely remember the times spent with the Udesky family at High Holidays, and when Uncle Harvey and Aunt came over to our house, and when we visited theirs in Skokie. My mother and father and our whole family deeply loved and were very fond of the U. Harvey and A. Frankie and their family. They were class acts as the saying goes, and its sad that time goes on and takes them from this earth.

Peace and Love be with them.

Dearest Harvey...rest in peace. You will be so very missed by so many....you were I believe the ultimate definition of the words "mensch", honest and loyal...the proof being the wonderful family you and Frankie have created. You will always be in our hearts.
