My husband Tom will miss Harold so much. They were friends from St. Gert's and held marathon phone talks in recent years. I remember him for his kindness and loyalty, his interest in others and mostly his big smile and big laugh. You couldn't hear Harold laugh and not laugh with him.

Our heartfelt sympathies to the entire Kownick Family. My dad, Don Jones, has been best friends with Harold since grammar school! We never heard until today and still don't know how to break the news to my dad, he will be devastated. Harold was truly a shining star in my father's life. Our prayers are with you all. My deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers to the Kownick family. I will always remember Mr. Kownicks hearty laugh and all the great memories we shared with him and the family at Lake Namekogan. I always felt welcome in his cabin and home in Illinoise. I remember Mr. Kownick loved fishing. He was always so nice to my little brother Davey who has cerebral palsy. Mr.Kownick will be missed but never forgotten.
