Beloved husband of Joyce Hempen and the late Lillie Hempen, loving father of Brenda (late John) Rusthoven, Ken (Christina) Hempen and Steve (Leanne) Hempen, cherished grandfather of David, Ellie, Catherine, Marianna, Elizabeth, Teresa, the late Matthew, the late James, Michael and Amelia, fond brother of Robert (Joyce), Evelyn (Rudolph) Piazza, Pearl (late Vincent) Richter, Marian (Jerome) Whitehead and Donald (Maxine) Hempen. Preceded in death by six brothers and sisters. Devoted Deacon at St. Ireneaus Church, avid golfer and woodworker. Resting at Lain-Sullivan Funeral Home & Crematory, 50 Westwood Dr., just west of Western, off Norwood, Park Forest, IL, where friends may call on Monday from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Tuesday, Chapel prayers at 9:15 a.m. Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ireneaus Church, 78 Cherry St., Park Forest.
