Auntie Gwen is how my sisters and I know her. She was my mother's best friend, and my godmother. For the love and friendship she shared with our family, I am grateful. I remember her as a kind and generous woman, who laughed often.
I send loving prayers to John, Jeanette and all who loved Auntie Gwen.

Gwendolyn Zipparro was an amazing woman with a beautiful spirit. She was always so thoughtful of everyone else. I will always remember visiting her after my first daughter was born and she was so full of light and life when holding her in her arms. I will miss her so much and always remember her so very fondly. My Great-Aunt Gwen was so very dear to me and so many others.

My grandmother, over these past few years, has shown me the strength of determination and the power of the human will to fight can overcome the most unfortunate and difficult circumstances. Watching her preserver through life altering news and impossible odds has shown me that no matter what unfortunate circumstances may arise in my life, as long as I meet these challenges with a strong spirit and will to fight life, life finds a way of working out the way it was intended for me.

Gwen Zipparro was my mother's (Elsie Elischer's) best friend in high school, and their friendship continued throughout the 1940's. After Vince first met Gwen and Elsie one Sunday when they were playing golf, he talked my father into joining him at the golf course the following week and told him, "I get the blonde." We all know that Gwen was that blonde. Gwen and Vince were married shortly after my parents were wed, and the two couples remained friends for life.
My mother was truly blessed to have such a loving friend. Our family will miss her and will keep her in our prayers.

My aunt, Gwendolyn Adams Zipparro, was always a lady. She was a strong, classy, beautiful woman and she was such a wonderful part of my life. She will be so missed.
