Grace Hopper Obituary

Grace Evelyn Hopper, 84, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Tuesday, February 13, 2007, at her residence. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Church of Christ and was retired from W. H. Hutcheson in Chicago, IL. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, sewing, gardening, and visiting with friends and family. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 until 9:00 p.m., Friday, February 16, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Glen. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Saturday, February 17, at Pleasant Grove Church of Christ. The body will lie in state at the church from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday. Services will be officiated by Ricky Fields. Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers include Ed Blakney, Mikie Thrasher, Derick Thrasher, John Herald, Rocco Holland, and Talmadge Reynolds. Cutshall Funeral Home of Glen, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Survivors include 1 son, Eugene Holland of Spring Grove, IL; 2 daughters, Glenda Herald of Iuka, MS, and JoAnn Bartos of Dover, OH; 1 sister, Estene Reynolds of Iuka, MS; 7 grandchildren, Rocco Holland, Annemarie Boruszewski, John Herald, Glenda Herald, Cody Bartos, Molly Carnes, and Warren Bartos; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Deroy Hopper; her parents, Leona and James Colonel Fields; a sister, Mamie Bachi; and a brother, J. C. Fields. Memorials may be made to the Pleasant Grove Cemetery Fund.
