Dear Jack and family, I was stunned to read of Germaine's passing. We were close friends at Mundelein College, graduated together, and if you remember, I stood up to your wedding. Recently I was looking at photos from those wonderful years, thinking of Germaine, and planning to get in touch. This really tears me to the core, as I hoped we would reconnect, especially with the 45th reunion coming up at Mundelein (now Louola) this fall. Please accept my heartfelt sympathy. Sincerely, Christine Bobka (Mundelein '65).

Dear Jack, Kathy , Colleen, John and all the Grandchildren,
My heartfelt condolences to you all. As you may or may not know, I received a letter from Germaine on Jan.16th. written on Dec. 20th and postmarked Phoenix Jan.14th. I left for two weeks in California the day after her letter arrived. I know it must have taken great effort to write it and my heart just aches that she struggled so hard to be postive in the face of her battle. I did write her a letter when I got to California, but, of course, I don't know whether she recieved it before her death and passing into her new life free of pain and struggle--surely hope so.
I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow-Thursday. How many fun and happy memories I have of the Rooney family!! My love and hugs to you all.
