I just learned of Mrs. Sweeney's death. I am so saddened by this and extend my deepest sympathy to her children. "Gerry" was such a comfort to my Mom during her long struggle with debilitating arthritis, always sending cards and cheering her with phone calls. Mrs. Sweeney, my Mom and Dad all attended St. Gall grammar school together. In their retirement and widowed years, my Mom and Gerry became close again, after raising their families. Such a dear lady, and a tremendous loss for her loved ones. I loved to answer the phone and hear her say "oh kid" - she won't be forgotten.

My sisters and I will always remember our Aunt Gerry's gentle and positive demeanor, and the happy times at our home on Panama Street, with Uncle Marty, my father and my mother. We looked forward to those visits. I miss those times, and will especially miss dear Aunt Gerry. God Bless her.
