Roberta Scobbie
September 27, 2015
Omg, I don't know what to say. Tonight I had her on my mind and thought I'd look her up, only to see this. I am in shock... Never knew Gerry on a personal level. Let me start from the beginning. My name is Roberta Scobbie and I'm sure her husband would recognize the name. I met Gerry in 1976 in Civil Process at the Sheriffs Office. O' we fought like two cats but I admired her devotion and inner drive. For such a little thing, she was mighty, yet with heart. Fierce competitor but we had a work bond that I will never forget. My heartfelt condolences to her family as now I stand alone, still at work with just memories. Not even a chance to say goodbye Gerry, you were the Sheriff's Office.

Farewell dear friend. We shared many years together in the Sheriff's Dept. You helped to bring the Civil Process Div. into the 21st century. You were fair to all who worked with you and for you in public service. May you rest in peace and may your family know that you will be remembered kindly. You were respected by many and we all share in the sorrow of your passing. But rejoice, because we were privileged to work along side a good woman who was also a loving mother and wife, and one of the really 'good guys' in law enforcement. I know that there is a special place in heaven for you and you are patiently sitting there waiting for the rest of us to join you.

Dear Bill,
I was shocked and sad to hear about Gerry. I've know her for many years and spent fun during our days in the YD's and then in the big arena. I know she loved working in the Sheriff's office and shared her marriage having her family with all her wonderful friends and extended family. I'm sorry I can't be with you and Bill, Katie and Tommy during these difficult days but I'm there in spirit. May my dear friend as we called her Little Gerry" rest in peace.
Fondly,
Sue Bass

Dear Bill
I'm shocked and sad to hear about my dear friend Gerry who I have known for so many years. I know how much she loved working in the Sheriff's office and got married, had her family and continued her career there. I have very fond memories going back to our days in the YD's and all our involvement in politics. Wherever I went Gerry was right there. I wish I could be with you and Bill, Katie and Tommy during these very difficult days. May all your fondest memories of Gerry be in your hearts forever. I'm with you in spirit. May my friend "little Gerry" rest in peace.
Fondly,
Sue Bass

what a beloved friend Gerry has been for so many years. The last time I was in Chicago she and I went for a wonderful reunion luncheon. My heart is aching for all of Gerry's family. As a Christian I know she is in the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ. May our Lord comfort Bill and the entire Kirst Family.
