Murphy, Gerald F. Jerry passed away after a long illness, though like a true cub fan, he steadfastly believed until the end that he would pull this one out too. Jerry is survived by his son, Thomas (Deborah), his adored grandsons, Tim and Sean and his dear godchildren, Mary Agnes, Kathy, Wally and Karli. Jerry joins his brother, Joe who preceded him and is missed by their brother, Wally (Mary) and their sisters, Mary Catherine (Roy Hickey), Joanne (Chuck Planek) and Marguerite (Dennis Healy), uncle Jerry will be missed by 15 nieces and nephews and their children. Visitation Sunday, 2 to 9 p.m. Funeral Monday, 11:45 a.m., from the Robert J. Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home, 9000 W. 151st St., Orland Park, to St. Elizabeth Seton Church. Mass 12:30 p.m. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
