Gerald Jacobs Obituary

Gerald J. Jacobs, age 73, of Holiday, FL, and formerly of Whitehouse, OH, died Sunday, August 14, 2005, at Tandem Health Care Inc., New Port Richey, FL, where he had been a resident.
He was born in Maumee June 15, 1932, to Rudolph and Gertrude (Russeau) Jacobs. He lived in Perrysburg prior to a move to Whitehouse, where the family lived for many years.
Despite his life-long disability from cerebral palsy he never complained. To know him was to love him.
Prior to his retirement in 1977, and the family move to Florida, Jacobs worked for nearly 20 years at Whitehouse Motor Sales and later at Ohio Truss Mart, Toledo.
He was recognized by local Holiday newspapers for his artistic ability with seashells. From memory he constructed a model of the Walt Disney World castle and its characters. His whimsical shell creations brought much enjoyment to family and friends.
Survivors include his sister, Mildred (Burl) Smith, and a brother, Norman (Becky) Jacobs, both of Bowling Green; a sister-in-law, Margaret Jacobs, Holiday, FL; along with many nieces and nephews who were special in his life.
Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, Rudolph (Rudy) Jacobs, also of Holiday and formerly of Whitehouse.
A memorial service in celebration of his life will be held at Peinert Funeral Home, Whitehouse, on September 3, beginning at 2:00 p.m. with the service at 3:00 p.m.
Burial will be in Anclote Cemetery, Holiday, FL.
Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 1935 Anclote Blvd., Holiday, FL 34691, or the donor's choice.
