Gerald M. Gordon, "Jerry", 91, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of family on January 23, 2025, at home in Evanston. Born at Michael Reese Hospital, Chicago, Jerry and his identical twin brother Larry were featured in the 1933 World's Fair as "Incubator Babies" weighing 3lb, 12oz and 3lb, 13oz at birth. They attended Von Steuben High School and the Illinois Institute of Technology. In 1956 Jerry went into the US Army where he served at Ft. Leonard Wood, then transferred to Ft. Lee, then Ft. Eustis. He then was sent to Germany to a very small post, not too far from Frankfurt, where he was soon appointed Company Clerk. Gerald was honorably discharged early in 1958. Gerald and Larry were best friends. They worked together at the family-owned Community Bakery until his maternal uncle, Charles Lubin, asked his mother to send him to Sara-Lee Bakery for a job interview. Jerry was hired and worked at Sara-Lee for nine years. Gerald and Larry traveled together to Europe and Switzerland in 1961, where they went skiing. After that adventure, they went to Paris where Gerald met his future wife Michelle, who was working in the fashion world. They married in 1963 in Paris, where Michelle's parents provided a beautiful wedding luncheon on a private boat on the Seine River with Gerald's American family, all very happy to be together. After their wedding, they moved to London for three months, where Jerry worked for an English bakery, then to Chicago, on Marine Drive, before purchasing a lovely home in Evanston. Gerald is the adored husband of 62 years of Michelle Bresson Gordon. Together they were the devoted and loving parents of Carolyn R. Gordon of Chicago, Julie A. (Brian) Gordon Stone of Glenview, and Stephen R. Gordon of Petaluma, California. Proud grandfather of Sabina and Giuliano Scurato, Layla Stone, and Arthur and Gabriel Gordon. Gerald is the brother of Susan (the late Ervin) Imrem; brother-in-law of Colette Bresson, Marc (Béatrice) Bresson; uncle of Joseph and Andrew (JoAnn) Gordon, Marc (Beth) and Abby Imrem, Laurent (Marie-Hélène) Parisot, Yannick Bresson; great-uncle of Alex, Gabi, Sam, Benjamin, Sarah, Jack, Olivia, Lucy Gordon, Kuper, Sylvi, Liza Imrem, Simon Doherty, Quentin, Morganne, Manon Parisot. Preceded in death by brother Larry, sister-in-law Margie, nephew Daniel Gordon, and parents Arthur Nathan Gordon and Jeanette Lubin Gordon; and sister-in-law Nicole and brother-in-law Gerard Parisot.
