Jerry was a great comrade and friend. I am saddened by your loss. I will always remember the good times we had together at Johnson-Phelps VFW talking and sharing stories over a few cold ones. You were there to welcome me home in 2004 and I will miss you buddy. May God bless you and welcome you home in peace.

Jerry Bogaczyk, Adjutant to VFW Post 5220, for 21 years, Past Post Commander, and past 3rd District Chaplain, Adjutant to the Am Vets. Jerry served his Country in Viet Nam as an Infantryman with the 1st. Infantry Division, the famed 'Big Red One'. That's his Heroism, and Patriotism. To me he was a real man a true friend, a Gentlemen, and a Gentle Man. His sense of hunor could bring you to tears and he almost shortened my life by laughing so hard with him. You can' t replace a friend like Jerry so we'll have to remember him fondly. To you Jerry a 'Soldiers Toast'. Here's to us, those like us, and damn few left". Rest in Peace, God just got a new Adjutant.
