George Swartz Obituary

George W. Swartz, Jr., 67, of 93 Daniel Road West, Kutztown, died Sunday, December 21 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was married to the former Sandra R. Ardle for 24 years in August.

For the past year, George worked at the Giant Food Store on Emmaus Avenue in Allentown. For five years prior, he worked at Shop Rite Food Store on MacArthur Road in Allentown; previously he was employed in the Coke Works plant of Bethlehem Steel for 32 years until 1992.

Born in Bethlehem on May 30, 1936, he was a son of the late George W. Sr. and Esther A. (Linde) Swartz.

George belonged to the Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall, Kutztown.

He played baseball for the Silver Creek Athletic Association in Springtown, PA, as well as for the Bethlehem Steel team.

In addition to his wife Sandy, George is survived also by two sons, George W. III of California and Frank J. Kerosetz of Allentown; five daughters, Debra L. Hackman of Leithsville, Brenda K. Klotz of Freemansburg, Pamela Kline of South Whitehall Township, Christine Hillardries of Germansville, and Nancy Kerosetz of Bethlehem; two sisters, Caroline Smale of Allentown, and Mildred Hamscher of Quakertown; eleven grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

A memorial service will be held Monday, December 29 10:00 a.m. in the Long Funeral Home. Call 7-9 p.m. Friday, December 26.

Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Bethlehem.
