Beloved husband of Demetra (nee Davlantis); father of Ted and Georgia (Andy) Mateja; cherished grandfather of George, Stephanie, AJ, Nick, and Deanna; dear brother of Bill (late Maria), Aspasia (Theoharis) Georgakopoulos, and the late Peter (Sophia); loving son of the late Theofanis and the late Marigo (nee Giannikas); brother-in-law of Nick (Marge) Davlantis and Jim (Connie) Davlantis; will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends here and in Greece. George was a Restaurateur on the Southwest Side for 40 years. In lieu of flowers, donations to Holy Cross Church appreciated. Visitation Thursday morning from 9:30am to 10:30am at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church, 7560 S. Archer, Justice, IL. Funeral services will follow at 10:30am. Interment Bethania Cemetery.
