George Rogosa Obituary
Durham
George L. Rogosa, 88, of Durham, NC. Entered into rest on Dec. 22, 2012. Beloved husband of the late Archie (Rhoden) Rogosa.
Survived by his sister-in-law, Elinor Rogosa. Cherished uncle of Howard Rogosa, Martin Rogosa, and David Rogosa. Loving brother of the late Mary Rogosa, Florence Hymes, Morris Rogosa, Israel Rogosa, Louis Rogosa, and Lillian Rogosa.
George earned his undergraduate and PhD degrees in physics from Johns Hopkins University. After retiring from the government as the Director of the Division of Nuclear Physics in the Department of Energy, he became a professor of physics at Duke University.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the Howerton & Bryan Funeral Chapel. Officiating will be Rabbi Morton Green.
The family will receive visitors immediately following the service. Interment will be private. Expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to a charity of the donors' choice.
