Paul Myers
December 28, 2018
My name is Paul Myers and I served with Headquarters of the 3rd Bde, 4th Div in Vietnam until Feb 1968. George was my replacement.
My time with him was relatively brief and spent indoctrinating George in his duties and trying to make him feel welcome. During this time period, I found in George a fellow soldier, that I knew that, if time allowed, we would have become friends. I regret not knowing him longer.
I only knew that he was from the Chicago area, he had obtained a college degree and that he had attended language school in Cal. to learn Vietnamese. I was always curious as to how his year of duty came out but after I came home, life occupied me to new directions.
So it is with sadness to hear of his passing and my sincere condolences to his family. May you find comfort that George was admired and respected in all his encounters and in the memories of his friends.

George & I were in the same class at St. Gertrude's grammar school. I remember him fondly as being a great student, friendly to everyone, & always very well groomed. He was the All-American boy, & it sounds like he developed into a wonderful man. I sincerely hope that your treasured memories will comfort you.

To George's family, my deepest sympathies on George's passing. I never met George in person, but I spoke with him by phone negotiating liens for what seems like my whole career of 30+ years. He was always a gentleman, very professional and friendly to work with. I am sure that how he conducted himself in business was how he was with family and friends. He will be missed.
