My late husband Al relied on George many times for guidance in his own duties within the American Legion and the 40 & 8. George was a mentor and friend to Al. Through my husband, I got to know George and Ruthie. I was on the sidelines, but witnessed so much of George's energy and charity. My thoughts now are with the Kotrba family, and his everlasting companion, dear Ruthie Elzinga. May you all have strength.
