Genevieve Cowan Obituary

Cowan, Genevieve (nee Sapiro). Born on April 19, 1904 in Richland Center Wisconsin and lived as a Glencoe resident for the past 50 years. She died in her Glencoe home on January 23, 2003. Mrs. Cowan was a music major at Northwestern University and the University of Wisconsin. She was on the board of teh Glencoe League of Women, a founding member of A E Phi Sorority at Northwestern University, a volunteer at the Fantus Children's Aid Clinic and the Lambs Farm. Beloved wife of the late Jesse, loving mother of Joanne (Sam) Loeb and Joellyn (Dr. Eugene) Schwartz, cherished grandmother of Jeffrey (Joni) Loeb, Sam Jr. (Virginia) Loeb, Jennifer (David) King, Sara (Raymond) Minkus, Marcie (Avy) Stein, Carolyn Anthony and Laura (Craig) Schwartz, adoring great-grandmother of Scott (Nicole) Loeb, Halley, Heather and Jesse Loeb, Annie and James King, Stephanie and Evan Minkus, Justin and Jordan Stein and Jessica Schwartz and great-great-grandmother of Hayden and Sophie Loeb, devoted aunt of Louis (Joan) Sapiro and devoted friend to care givers Dotsy Lewis and Annie Powell. Private graveside services will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to The Lambs Farm, 14245 Rockland Rd., Libertyville, IL 60048 to the attention of Mary-Ann Naydor or a charity of your choice.
