Dear Silbar family. I only met Gary a few times but every time was great. He was always so friendly and asked questions about the family. I am so sorry for your loss.

To the extended Silbar family - my deepest condolences on Gary's passing. I was so shocked and saddened to hear the news. Gary and I were pals at NIU, rooming in the same dorm, hanging out with similar crowds, both pursuing PR-Marketing courses and ending up in PR roles in our careers. He also served as my Best Man in my first wedding! Like all others who knew him, he was a joy to be with, quick of wit and fun to explore new things.

I was able to reconnect with him in the past few years via Facebook, and hung out with him (and Johnny J, another pal) in 2016 at Guild Hall over beers and laughter. It was cool for us to re-connect and learn about each others' lives. I will miss him. I hope he's in a better place now. Sincerely, Dave

To the Silbar Family....I am an old friend and colleague of Gary's and I am so sorry and saddened about his passing. We worked together in the mid-80s, had some fun times with groups of friends in Lincoln Park and shared a lot of laughs. In recent years I was happy to reconnect with him on Facebook and enjoyed hearing about his beautiful family. My heart goes out to all of you and again, I am so very sorry for your loss. He was a great guy! Sincerely, Sharon Monson
